On July 23, Illustration Institute 2024 Faison Resident Bill Plympton showed some of his shorts and discussed independent animation. The event was held at Maine College of Art & Design in Portland, Maine. 

Plympton is an American animator, graphic designer, cartoonist, and filmmaker best known for his 1987 Academy Award–nominated animated short Your Face and his series of shorts featuring a dog character starting with 2004's Guard Dog.
