ELMA LEWIS: It depends on who you mean when you're talking about the general community. If you're talking about the white community, they don't want us to thrive so they're not going to put money up.
ROBERT BROWN: And they didn't even in -
ELMA LEWIS: In the beginning or in the end.
ROBERT BROWN: In the '60s?
ELMA LEWIS: No, no. America is America.
